Fire Weather Watch issued September 28 at 1:32AM MDT until September 30 at 6:00PM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND MONDAY MOST OF NORTHEAST WYOMING AND WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA... .Gusty south to southwest winds are expected Sunday afternoon, especially over western South Dakota where winds will gust over 40 mph. Further west, wind gusts are more uncertain Sunday, but deeper mixing may allow for frequent gusts over 25 mph. RH will drop below 15 percent all areas Sunday, with poor recovery Sunday night. A cold front will move through the region Sunday night supporting gusty northwest winds. RH will again fall to below 20 percent Monday, especially over southwest to south central South Dakota. Given all these concerns, a fire weather watch has been issued Sunday through Monday for most of northeast Wyoming and western South Dakota. The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 314 Northern Campbell, 315 Southern Campbell, 316 Crook County Plains, 317 Weston County Plains, 320 Central Black Hills, 321 Southern Black Hills, 322 Fall River County Area, 323 Northern Foot Hills and 327 Butte County Area. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity would produce critical fire weather conditions. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
